Camineo

The Eco-museum of Texel Island ( Ecomare) completed its equipment of interactive multimedia terminals with a number of mobile guides. Expanded during the summer of 2006, the Camineo system proposes a fun and educational way to discover the area.

The developped application for Ecomare is easy to use: the visitor has just to put his pocket PC on and let him guide. The content essentially relates to the landscape and to the fauna and the flora of this protected coastal area. A research interface enables the more curious users to add further to their knowledge by allowing them to search themselves about the information of this land of dunes.

The real event with the launch of this guide is that, from now on and for the first time, the administrators of a tourist attraction can create and update their own contents in total autonomy. Indeed, thanks to the Camineo Content Management System (C²MS), the communication team of the museum fully integrated its guide content and modifies it regularly. The system is exclusive to Camineo : it’s a simple and full content management application, which doesn’t need any specific technical skill. It gives the opportunity for all Camineo customers to remain in control of the whole creation process of a guide and then, to automatically transfer the application to their mobile terminals.
